An Israeli airstrike on Saturday killed six people and injured two others in eastern Lebanon, the Lebanese news agency reported.
The Israeli military announced that its warplanes carried out strikes on Hezbollah operatives in the Bekaa area of eastern Lebanon. “The IDF continues to operate to eliminate any threat to the State of Israel and will prevent any attempt by the terrorist organization Hezbollah to rebuild its forces, in accordance with the ceasefire agreements,” the statement said.
The airstrikes come after a ceasefire reached in November last year between Israel and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah.
According to the ceasefire agreement, Israel was supposed to fully withdraw from southern Lebanon by January 26, but the agreement deadline has been extended to February 18.
