Putin's two daughters are sanctioned by the EU

sanctions, putin's daughters

The European Union has imposed sanctions on Russian President Vladimir Putin's two daughters as part of a new package of measures targeting Russia for its invasion of Ukraine, according to two EU officials, AP reported Friday.

The EU included Maria Vorontsova and Katerina Tikhonova on its list of individuals facing asset freezes and travel bans.

The EU's move follows that of the US for both.

After evidence of torture and killings carried out in war zones outside Kiev, the EU has imposed a fifth package of punitive measures against Russia.
