Paul Rusesabagina, portrayed in a film as the savior hero during the genocide in Ruada state, has been convicted of terrorism.
Rusesabagina was found guilty of supporting a rebel group that killed civilians in 2018 attacks that killed dozens. The convict's family said that he was forcibly sent to Rwanda and that he was not given a fair trial.
In the Oscar-nominated film Hotel Rwanda, Rusesabagina, played by actor Don Cheadle, appeared as a hotel manager where he managed to protect more than 1 people who had sought shelter.
