If British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak succeeds in passing the law he has introduced, it will mean that a 14-year-old today will never be able to legally buy cigarettes in England.
The new law would ban the sale of tobacco to anyone born after January 1, 2009.
Sunaku has introduced the anti-smoking law at a Conservative Party conference held this week in Manchester.
The Prime Minister has said that the age for buying tobacco will be raised every year.
He has also promised measures to stop the consumption of e-cigarettes by young people.
