Israel has welcomed for the first time in history the United Arab Emirates to its territories to be part of a meeting where some concrete agreements will be signed between the two countries. One of the basic agreements that this cooperation will include is the free movement of citizens between Israel and the Arab States.
"My staff had written me a few lines that started saying 'today we are witnessing history' and I said absolutely no! Today we are making history. We are making history in a way that will last for generations. This is the first official visit of the United Arab Emirates to Israel. It is the first time since the signing of the peace agreement at the White House, that the government of Israel and the United Arab Emirates have signed a concrete cooperation agreement", declared Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Other agreements that the two countries signed were also issues such as investment protection and scientific and technological developments.
"I am pleased to see that we have made significant progress between our governments. The UAE will continue to be a regional leader in terms of economic reforms, the opening of free international trade and political stability," said UAE Foreign Minister Obaid Humaid Al Tayer.
Present at this meeting were not only the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and the delegates of the United Arab Emirates, but also representatives from the United States of America, which are the catalysts of this cooperation.
