Death toll from Colombia earthquake rises to 26

The death toll from the earthquake in Colombia has reached 26, including three children who lost their lives when a wall collapsed in the municipality of Calima El Darién.

The 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck at 7:34 a.m. local time on Monday, at a depth of 66 miles (107 km), according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The epicenter was in San José del Palmar, in the Chocó region.

The tremors were felt throughout the country, as well as in neighboring countries: Venezuela, Ecuador and Panama.

This comes less than two months after two consecutive earthquakes devastated parts of Venezuela, killing more than 5.000 people.
