US President Donald Trump began his speech at the United Nations on Tuesday with a campaign tone, putting aside foreign policy issues to focus on his domestic performance on the economy, immigration and crime.
"I can proudly tell you that America is back and our country is stronger than ever before," Trump said.
"Our technology is unmatched and we are leaders in almost every field," he added.
Trump has talked about the performance of the US stock market, the reduction in the country's official poverty rate, his efforts to stop illegal crossings at the southern border, and the reduction in violent crime rates in American cities.
He also spoke about Iran, reiterating that he "will never allow this country to have nuclear weapons."
