Two cases of Lassa fever have been identified in people who have recently returned to Britain from West Africa, the DailyMail reports.
The infected patients are members of the same family from England, health officials in England have said.
They are among 10 cases of rodent-borne disease in Britain and the first since 2009.
One of the patients has been hospitalized, while the other has fully recovered.
The disease known as "Lassa fever" is endemic in Nigeria and some other countries in Africa. People usually become infected after exposure to food or household items contaminated with the urine of infected rats.
