Former President Donald Trump has won more than half of Republican support in a conservative political action poll (CPAC) over the weekend.
In Sunday's poll, 55 percent of respondents said they would vote for him in a hypothetical 2024 election, the Independent reports.
21 percent said they would vote for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, while 4 percent said they would choose South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem.
68 percent of participants said in a separate poll that they would like to see Trump run for president again in 2024, with 15 percent saying they would not.
The polls, conducted by secret ballot, reflect the views of those attending the Conservative conference including current and former elected officials, activists, writers.

Among a slate of candidates that excludes Trump from the race, DeSantis had a deep lead with 43 percent of the vote.
Kristi Noem was second in that poll, with 11 percent of the vote, with Donald Trump Jr., the president's eldest son, third with eight percent.
