Nine staff members of the United Nations Agency for Palestine Refugees, UNWRA, may have been involved in the October 7 attack by Hamas in Israel, the UN has announced, reports "BBC".
All nine members have had their contracts terminated, said UN assistant spokesman Farhan Haq.
He said the UN had ended its investigation into allegations made by Israel that UNWRA staff were involved.
About 1200 people were killed and 251 taken hostage in the Hamas attack in southern Israel last fall. In response, the Israeli army launched a military operation in Gaza, as a result of which more than 38,400 Palestinians have been killed, according to figures from the Gaza Ministry of Health.
