Harris declines Trump's invitation to debate on Fox News

The vice president of the United States of America and the possible Democratic candidate, Kamala Harris, has rejected the invitation of the former American president Donald Trump to participate in a televised debate on "Fox News" television in September.

Harris insists that Trump should stick to earlier plans and have the debate take place on ABC News.

On Friday, on his "Truth Social" platform, Trump accepted the proposal of "Fox News" to hold a debate with Harris on September 4 in Pennsylvania.

Harris' campaign has said that "Trump got scared and is trying to walk away from the debate that he has already agreed to."

"He should stop playing games and appear at the agreed debate," the statement said.

In the press release it is emphasized that Harris will be part of the debate on "ABC News".

"We are ready to consider other debates after the one on which both sides have already agreed," the statement said.

Fox News is generally seen as more favorable to Trump, and ABC News to Harris.

Trump was scheduled to debate Joe Biden on ABC News on September 10 before the current US president suspended his bid late last month.
