Moments after he was shot at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday afternoon, Donald Trump was seen with blood on his ear and cheek as he hurried from the scene.

A more complete video of the attack and the aftermath that has recently been released shows the chaotic scene that ensued as his security scrambled to cover him from all sides.

Trump was in the middle of his speech when several shots rang out. He is seen holding his ear as Secret Service agents surround him, CNN reports.

"Get off, get off, get off," says one. Then another shot is heard and a woman screams.

Several voices of Secret Service agents are heard - one says "up!" another "the stairs are ready, the stairs are ready."

Trump can also be heard, but his words are slurred. More agents enter the scene, some carrying assault rifles. Trump supporters in the background look shocked as some film on their phones.

After hearing that the attacker has been killed, Trump and the agents stand up. The following discussions are then heard:

Trump: Let me get my shoes, let me get my shoes.

Agent: "Understood sir, understood sir."

Trump: Let me get my shoes.

Another agent: "Wait, your head is bloody."

Agent: "Sir, we have to go to ..."

Trump: Let me get my shoes.

Agent: "okay"

Trump: "Wait, wait, wait."

He then punches the crowd and says the word "fight" three times - a move that was met with cheers.

Trump and the Secret Service team leave the podium and head to the cars as the crowd chants "USA. USA. USA."
