Another knife attack in Germany, the police kill the aggressor

Germany

A man stabbed three people in the small German town of Wolmirstedt before police killed him, German authorities said Saturday.

The three stabbed people are in serious condition.

The state prosecutor's office from the city of Magdeburg has said that the attacker first stabbed a young man in another location, and then attacked other people while passing by a house where there was a party on the occasion of the start of the European Championship.

"The group was watching the game in a private house where the attacker found them. The police reacted quickly and killed the attacker," the statement said, as reported by the German news agency DPA.

Investigations into possible motives for the attack are ongoing.

A few days earlier, a man of Afghan origin stabbed a policeman in Mannheim. The policeman later died in hospital.
