Cyprus calls for ceasefire in Gaza

Cyprus

Cyprus' foreign minister said on Tuesday that Israel's offensive in the southern Gaza city of Rafah is causing "irreversible and catastrophic consequences".

"Cyprus strongly regrets the recent airstrikes that caused the death of so many innocent civilians, including children," he said.

In a joint press conference with his Egyptian counterpart in Cairo, Constantinos Kombos has also called for a stop to the Israeli attacks in Rafah, reports "Associated Press".

"There is an urgent need for an immediate ceasefire and the release of the hostages. This is necessary", said Kombos.
