Orban: Ukraine is no longer a sovereign state

Viktor Orban

The Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, said on Wednesday that Ukraine is no longer a sovereign state.

He said that Ukraine would disappear as a state if the European Union and the United States did not help it, reports "Associated Press".

"Ukraine is no longer a sovereign state. Ukraine is now only a protectorate of the West. So, without the money and weapons from the European Union and the United States, Ukraine as a state would cease to exist. So it is no longer a sovereign state", declared the Hungarian Prime Minister.

Orban has also said that Russia will never allow Ukraine to join NATO, which he even described as the reason for the war.

"The reason for the war is very simple. It is called NATO membership. And as a country that was occupied by the Russians for 45 years, I can say from personal experience that the Russians will never allow Ukraine to join NATO as it is now. They will do everything to have something between the Russian border and the border of NATO countries", he added.
