A woman who was stranded on a hiking trail in Taiwan is being evacuated by helicopter

A woman who was injured as a result of the earthquake that struck eastern Taiwan a day ago, was transported by helicopter from the Shakadang trail where she was trapped, reports the news agency "Associated Press". 

At least four of the nine people who died in the quake were hikers climbing a trail leading to Taroko National Park, which is about 150 kilometers from the capital Taipei.

The 7.4-magnitude earthquake had its epicenter in eastern Hualien County.
About 1,070 people have been injured as a result of the earthquake that struck Taiwan on Wednesday morning.
