A 10-year-old girl in India who is 32 weeks pregnant but has no idea what is happening to her body has now made headlines in foreign media.
A BBC journalist, upon hearing about this case, decided to go and visit the little girl in India, reports Koha.net.
"I have heard of such cases and even reported them. But they were always aged 14-15, but this case is really special, she is only 10 years old and her case is even more painful", said Geeta Pandey.
The 10-year-old from India is said to have been repeatedly raped by a relative of hers.
The girl has no idea what is happening to her body, still a child, but after complaining of abdominal pain, she was taken by her parents to the hospital.
There, they told the girl's parents that she is pregnant and that she is at 32 weeks, which means that the baby is starting to develop well.
For this reason, the Supreme Court rejected her family's request to abort the baby, since such an abortion is extremely dangerous for this minor girl and would cause serious problems in the fetus.
The girl in question is described as a happy child who is always smiling. She is shy and doesn't talk much. English language and mathematics are her favorite subjects. She likes ice cream, fish and chicken.
In India, abortions after the 20th week are not allowed, as doctors prove that the mother's life is at risk.
The girl is still not aware of her pregnancy, but she has been told that she has stones in her stomach and that is why her stomach is swollen.
She has been forced to enter a special diet of eggs, milk, fruit, fish and chicken.
However, her family is very poor. They live in a very cramped apartment, which unfortunately only has one room.
Authorities have described this family as very good, simple and respected.
Rates of abuse in India:
A child under the age of 16 is raped every 15 minutes, a child under the age of 10 is raped every 13 hours.
In 2015 alone, more than 10,000 children were raped.

After the 10-year-old's case was reported by the media, she also received attention from the authorities, thus receiving the best medical care and financial compensation from the government.
