At least 24 people have been killed and 40 others injured after a bomb exploded at a train station in Pakistan.

The target was "military personnel", the police said.

Pakistan is facing increasing attacks by separatist militants in the south and northwest of the country.

"So far 44 people have been brought to the hospital", the hospital told Reuters.

The blast appears to have been caused by a suicide bomb, but no group has yet claimed responsibility.
