US airdrops first aid to Gaza

The United States of America has started releasing aid from the air in Gaza from airplanes, writes CNN.

66 aid packages were dropped, 22 from each of the three planes flying over Gaza.

The packages contained food, but no water or medical equipment. The packages contained 30 pieces.

Earlier, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates sent humanitarian aid by air. The US is doing it for the first time.

President Joe Biden announced the decision yesterday.

The total number of dead as a result of the war between Hamas and Israel has reached over 30 since the fighting began on October 7.
