Australia will buy 20 C-130 Hercules aircraft from the US
Australia has announced that it will buy 20 C-130 Hercules aircraft from the United States of America, worth 6.6 billion dollars, an investment that is expected to significantly increase the size of the air force fleet.
The first four-engine Hercules aircraft is expected to be delivered in 2027 and will eventually replace the fleet of 12 Hercules aircraft that the Royal Australian Air Force currently operates from Richmond, near Sydney, Defense Industry Minister Pat Conroy has said.
The United States and Australia are currently conducting their two-year military exercise along the Australian coast that this year includes 13 countries and more than 30 troops.
