On Wednesday from 18:30, Trepça plays the third game in the regular season of the FIBA Europe Cup. In the "Minatori" gym, on the banks of the river Ibër, the people of Mitrovica face the team from Scotland, Caledonia Gladiators.
Trepca has lost the first two games and is looking for a chance for success against the "gladiators" from East Kilbride. Caledonia competes in the British league. In the last edition, it was ranked third.
In the regular season in the FIBA Europe Cup, last edition, Caledonia Gladiators had three wins and three losses and did not advance. The group included Bilbao from Spain, Anwil from Poland and the Romanian team Sibiu.
This edition is presented more faintly. In the first round, it was defeated by Ludwigsburg with a score of 86:62. In the second round, Caledonia was home, while losing to the French Dijon with the numbers 90:54. In the first round, Trepca lost 118:73 to Dijon, while a week ago in Mitrovica, it lost 70:57 to German Ludwigsburg. But against Ludwigsburg, the "miners" offered a great fight on the floor and were in the game almost until the end.
The same approach is expected on Wednesday night against Caledonia. For Trepca, it is a great occasion for the first victory this edition in the regular season of the FIBA Europe Cup.
"Caledonia is a team with equal qualities to us. The chances are greater than with Dijon and Ludwigsburg. It is a team with a different profile. There are quite a few tall players. Length is on their side, but we will prepare for this", said the assistant coach of Trepça, Petrit Zeqiri.

Trepça is defeated by the Scottish "gladiators".
At the weekend, Trepça won the dramatic match against Peja with a score of 94:85. In the fifth round, he won against Proton Cable Prizren. These two victories and the appearance against Ludwigsburg, although in defeat, gave signs that Adis Beqiragic's team overcame the mini-crisis, during which they despaired in France and lost to Union Sigal Pristina in the Super League.
More signals are expected on Wednesday night.
As for advancing to the second round of the FIBA Europe Cup, Trepça is almost unlikely. Only the winner of the group is certain to advance, while six of the ten best second-placed teams advance to the second round. Dijon and Ludwigsburg are rated significantly higher than Caledonia Gladiators' Trepca. But every victory on the European stage would be very important for Trepca and Kosovar basketball in general.
