Trepça stops the progress of the Union, wins deep

The Union had a run of seven consecutive victories at the start of the new edition of the Kosovo Super League in basketball. Bashkimi started the positive series of results against Trepça in the first round. But on Saturday at the "Minatori" gym in Mitrovica, the Union was defeated with a deep result, 82:52. 

"Xehetar" did not allow their victory to be jeopardized in this match, from the start of the match. 

Trepça is close to the leader Union in just one point, with six wins and two losses. Union has seven wins and one defeat. 

Trepça created a lead from the beginning and did not allow the Union to score points for nearly three minutes. In the first quarter, he stopped it in only seven points in total, until he scored 24. The hosts, who also had the great performance of the viewers, went to the break with a 23-point lead, 46:23. 

With the score of 19:13 and 17:16, Trepça closed the last two periods, to win with a full 30 point lead. 

The coach of Trepça, Adis Beqiragiq, said after the match that the strong defense brought them victory from this match. But, there was criticism again for the offensive phase. 

"The excellent defense of our team was the key to this victory", said Beqiragić after the match. 

Meanwhile, Darko Radulović, the coach of the Prizren team, congratulated Trepca for his performance. He added that the players he manages lacked motivation. 

"Trepca's players today were very fast, accurate and more in the mood for the game. Our players were sluggish. This is not the true face of the Union. They looked like they were unmotivated and that cost us", stressed Radulović after the match. 

Larry Thomas scored 15 points, seven rebounds and four assists for the best statistics in this home match. 

Malik Johnson also contributed with 15 points, four rebounds and nine assists. 

Mikaile Tmushiq had 12 points, while Samuel Hunter scored 11 points. 

The Union was not helped by the good play of Jayveous Mckinnis who finished the game with nine points, eight rebounds and one assist.
