The NBA has brought back the greatest and most famous basketball player of all time. Michael Jordan will work as a television pundit for the American broadcaster “NBC” starting this fall. He will analyze the games of the American league, NBC announced. It is not yet clear what role he will play in the reporting. Officially, his position is called “special employee”.
"I'm very excited to see the NBA back on NBC. It's been a big part of my career and I look forward to playing a special role in the project. I look forward to seeing everyone again when the NBA premieres on NBC in October," the 62-year-old said.
NBC was the NBA's broadcaster when Jordan dominated the league with the Chicago Bulls, winning six titles and being named the MVP of all six Finals. After 23 years, the broadcaster has now regained the rights to broadcast the NBA. The contract is valid for an 11-year period.
Jordan was a 14-time All-Star. He was the leading scorer ten times, and with the United States he won two Olympic gold medals, in 1984 in Los Angeles and in 1992 in Barcelona.
