Audia raises the wages of workers in this state

The Mexican unit of German auto maker Audi has announced it has reached an agreement with unionized workers in the country over wage increases, Reuters reported on Sunday.

The wage increase has reportedly been increased by about 7 percent, as well as a 3.2 percent increase in benefits for 2024, after workers went on strike in January.

Labor Minister Marath Bolanos has said on Platform X that workers will vote on the agreement with Audi on Sunday.

The deal is expected to resolve a workers' strike that began on January 24 after, according to Audi, the union rejected the carmaker's offer of a 6.5 percent pay rise and demanded a 15.5 percent increase.

Last year, Audi and the local workers union SITAUDI agreed to a 9.4 percent wage increase, one of the highest wage increases in Mexico's auto sector in recent years.
