VW recalls over 150 Audi A3s in the US, airbag problems

Volkswagen Group has announced a recall of over 150 A3 vehicles in the United States, according to a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The recall is expected to affect 153.152 units of the compact car that were produced between 2015 and 2020, including the sedan, e-tron and cabriolet models, and some of the S3s.

The system that detects if the passenger's seat is occupied may not work and the "airbag" does not work.

VW will write to owners of affected cars by May 21 and contact them again once a solution to the problem is found.
