Porsche invests in the production of electric hypercars

Porsche decided to strengthen the cooperation with the manufacturer of electric cars Rimac by investing and buying 20% of its shares, writes Autoblog.

Rimac received $500 million while funding is also coming from investment giants like Softbank and Goldman Sachs.

All this is a vote of confidence for the company which has become the main supplier of electric cars produced by Hyundai, Porsche and other well-known car manufacturers.

Porsche invested $83.3 million in Rimac last year. Last year, Rimac in collaboration with Porsche took over Bugatti, which is now known as Bugatti Rimac. Finally, the company introduced a 1.914 horsepower Rimac Nevera EV model that reaches speeds from 0-100 km/h in 1.85 seconds and a top speed of 402 km/h.

In addition to Porsche and Hyundai, Rimac Technology develops and manufactures batteries and components for Koenigseg, Pininfarina and Aston Martin.
