The ID.3 opened Volkswagen's all-electric lineup in 2019, and since then the ID logo has expanded with the subsequent ID.4, ID.5, and the announced ID.7. Now it's time for something smaller. ID.2 is coming.
As the name suggests, the ID.2 will be the smallest electric car. The car will arrive before the end of 2025.
Photos published by Auto-Express show the ID.2 model being tested in winter conditions. Although it has a similar body to the ID.3, it comes smaller in size.
VW has been working on electric models for a long time. The MEB platform, for electric models, is expected to be active for four other Volkswagen Group models, including Skoda, by the middle of the decade.
ID.2 is expected to go on sale in 2025. It will have the elements of other electric cars. It is expected to come with several battery size options, starting with the "weakest variant" that offers a range of up to 200 kilometers on a single charge. Other models will offer the possibility of passing up to 300 kilometers of distance.
