The deputy of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Bujar Dugolli, has called problematic the statement of the envoy of the United States of America (USA) for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, who spoke on Thursday about Kosovo's approach to dialogue.
Dugolli said that Escobar's conclusion that "a country of one and a half million will not be able to convince the transatlantic community of 700 million to change its tactics" is problematic because, according to him, in the twenty-first century "justice should not measured by size and power".
"Escobar has said that a nation of 1.5 million inhabitants cannot change the tactics of the transatlantic community of 700 million! In itself, this finding is quite problematic because in the twenty-first century, right and justice should never be measured by size or power", wrote the member of the ruling party.
The US envoy has expressed that the European Union's envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak, has full confidence.
"Lajcak enjoys the full confidence of the European Union and the United States." All EU countries made a joint statement after the failure of the talks, with support for Lajcak. It's something they have to face. Lajçak will not leave. The dialogue will not go away. And I don't think a country of a million and a half will convince the transatlantic community of 700 million to change its tactics. I think there should be a more pragmatic approach from the government of Kosovo", said Escobar.
