ERO announces new tariffs and their impact in the north

The Energy Regulatory Office announced on Monday that the increase in The 16.1 percent energy price increase applies to universal service suppliers operating in Kosovo and "KESCO has this universal service obligation."

Elektroserver, as a commercial company for the supply of electricity, is licensed by ERO, but it is not yet known whether it will implement the increase in electricity prices in the north. Elektrosever, which distributes electricity in the north, decides whether to increase prices on the bills of citizens there. 

“The Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) informs the public that the ERO Board on 16.04.2025 has also approved the Tariffs for the Use of the Transmission System, System Operation and Market Operation, as well as the Tariffs for the Use of the Distribution System, which tariffs are mandatory for all electricity suppliers in the entire territory of the Republic of Kosovo, including the electricity supplier Elektrosever. The 16.1% increase in electricity tariffs applies to the Universal Service Supplier, which operates in the entire territory of the Republic of Kosovo and this universal service obligation is held by KESCO. We also inform the public that the electricity supplier Elektrosever has a license from ERO for consumers in four municipalities in the north of the Republic of Kosovo, as a commercial supplier, as well as many other electricity suppliers licensed by ERO.
