Haki Abazi, a candidate for MP from the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, has stated that the American envoy, Richard Grenell, has told officials of this party that Kosovo should solve its problems with the north on its own, adding that any other option would not be in Kosovo's favor.
In "Elections in TIME", Abazi said on Thursday that Kosovo could be surprised by every unexpected decision of the Trump administration on resolving the northern issue. He has stated that Kosovo "should not be a problematizer of internal issues."
"I cannot speak on behalf of the Administration, but in no way should we put ourselves on the table as a problem, especially through the north. Every problem in the north is problematized, in Trump's case, solutions are not elaborated. We may be surprised by the solutions that may come as a take-it-or-leave-it solution," said Abazi.
According to him, Grenell has ordered that Kosovo not be a creator of crises.
"...We have an agreement on the presence of NATO in Kosovo that is to our advantage. We must not create situations where the international community, frustrated, says that you are the producers of crises and you solve them. This has been the message that we had in the United States. We cannot deal with a problem that has generation, and something "One thing is being discussed in Brussels, and something else in the US for the north. This is what Grenell said. It is not wise to clash with the US, to face situations that we have not prepared ourselves or our institutions for," said Abazi.
