The Deputy Minister of Education, Taulant Kelmendi, has reacted to the statements of the members of the Investigative Commission on the subsidization of school textbooks from the ranks of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Ardian Kastrati and Bekim Haxhiu, who have accused the Minister Arbërie Nagavci of budget extortion and psychological violence to the parents.
Kelmendi said that Kastrati and Haxhiu are distorting the facts, as he also accused them of "another motive" for this reaction.
"They were mainly concerned that there were no tenders of millions for the purchase of texts with the publishing houses. MPs Ardian Kastrati and Bekim Kamishi on behalf of PDK are against the budget going to parents and students. They shared the concern that we are directly subsidizing parents not only for textbooks but also for other school materials. The first thing that stands out in their reactions is the distortion of facts, but also a significant amount of lack of knowledge. They don't say why. Maybe, because they can't say publicly the real motive of this reaction they do", he wrote on Facebook.
According to Kelmendi, the reaction of the citizens is completely different.
"In 24 hours, 60,244 applications were successfully processed. Easy and fast application", he added.
During the conference, Ardian Kastrati accused the Minister of Education, Arbërie Nagavci, of misuse. While Bekim Haxhiu has said that urgent action by the State Prosecutor's Office is needed for this matter.
