The Kosovo Police Union considers the Draft Law on salaries and the established coefficient unacceptable. The head of the union, Imer Zeqiri, stated that the coefficient of the policeman's salary is discriminatory, based on the draft of the coefficients that is being worked on by the Ministry of the Interior.
"Yes, it seems to me that the Commission, while compiling this law, I don't know, took these things into account. It is dangerous and these are the policemen who prepare the case for the court for the prosecutor. A prosecutor, compared to a policeman, receives 5 salaries. Currently, the policeman's salary is 392 euros. The draft law with these coefficients is unacceptable", Zeqiri declared before the Security Committee about the law that is expected to be presented to the deputies for consideration in March.
Zeqiri emphasized that they are also dissatisfied with the lack of health insurance.
"Not only in the region, but also in Europe and the world, there is no police without health insurance. "The police remain without health insurance for the longest time," he said.
According to the head of the Union, about 5 million euros per year would cost health insurance for the Kosovo Police.
