The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has congratulated Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Socialist Party on the convincing victory in the May 11 parliamentary elections in Albania, where the Socialists secured 83 out of 140 seats in the Assembly.
Through a post on the "X" platform, Zelensky expressed appreciation for Rama's commitment to supporting international peace and stability, especially in relation to the conflict in Ukraine.
"Congratulations to Edi Rama and the Socialist Party on the convincing victory in the elections. I wish you success in serving the Albanian people," Zelensky wrote.
The Ukrainian President also expressed gratitude for Albania's clear and unchanged position in support of a peaceful resolution to the war in Ukraine.
"We appreciate your clear and unwavering position on the need for lasting peace for Ukraine, which can be achieved through a complete and unconditional ceasefire," he added.
At the end of his message, Zelensky expressed his desire to further strengthen bilateral relations.
"I look forward to further strengthening the friendly relations between our countries for the benefit of both our nations," he wrote.
