The memorial dedicated to the first public appearance of the KLA is unveiled

In the village of Llaushë in Skenderaj, where the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) made its first public appearance, today, November 28, in honor of this day, a memorial was inaugurated with the logo of the KLA and the inscription "The first public appearance of the KLA- of".

27 years ago, at the funeral of the teacher Halit Geci, who was killed by the Serbian forces, the statement of the KLA was read by Rexhep Selimi, who was accompanied by two other soldiers, Daut Haradinaj and Muje Krasniqi.

Hundreds of citizens, former KLA soldiers, families of martyrs, veterans and invalids of the last war in Kosovo, as well as other political figures participated in the inauguration ceremony of the memorial organized by the municipality of Skenderaj.

The initiator of the initiative for the construction of the memorial and at the same time the former student of Hali Geci, Arbër Geci told the history of the KLA's public appearance for the first time, the confrontations between the Serbian forces in Vajnika and between the mountains of Llausha.

"After many discussions and ideas about where to attack the Serbian forces, everyone led by commander Adem Jashari decided to occupy the position between the mountains of Llausha and Rezalla e Re. As the most suitable position to receive the Serbian forces which were thought to come from the city of Skenderaj. Therefore, as agreed at around 04:00 in the morning, a total of 22 KLA soldiers, all armed with iron will and clear ideals, are positioned at four points on the mountains around Llausha and Rezalla e Re... Arbër Geci, the son of the former KLA commander Jetullah Geci, said that the killing of teacher Hali was a pain for everyone, but it was considered an ideal moment to show that the KLA was present, strong and acting in every part of Kosovo.

The mayor of Skenderaj, Fadil Nura, said that the appearance of the Kosovo Liberation Army, which did not tolerate injustices, murders and persecutions, took place on the most important day for the Albanian people, November 28.
