The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, has accused the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the international community for the recent tensions in the north. He said that the Kosovo Police "is used politically against the Serbs in the north".
In the early hours of Sunday, police officer Afrim Bunjaku was shot dead by several attackers who then surrounded the Monastery of Banjska in Zveçan. After an action, the Police confirmed that three attackers were killed and that six were arrested. In an extraordinary media conference in the evening, Vuçiqi said that those killed were "Kosovo Serbs".
Vuçiqi has said that "he has always warned that this could happen from people in Kosovo who do not want to endure Kurti's terror".
He stated that since November, Kurti has used the Kosovo police 62 times against the Serbs in the north. Vucic said that there were over "56 politically motivated attacks on Serbs".
Vučić said that he does not justify the killing of the policeman and that this is to be judged.

"It is something that no one needed, least of all the Serbian people, especially at this moment when everyone realized that Kurti is the main organizer of the chaos in Kosovo", said Vucic.
He said that "about ten Serbs" were surrounded for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
"They were under complete siege and it is evident that it was done together with the international forces in terms of logistics and a brutal attack was carried out on them", said Vucic.
Vuçiqi said that he asked KFOR why he did not act to have fewer victims, "but that Kurt was given permission to kill as many people as possible".
He said that "an attacker is in danger of life only after he is not given help". Vucic said that he has the recordings "where the Albanian policemen can be heard laughing and saying 'leave it'".
He said that two Serbs were shot by snipers from a distance. He also said that shots were fired in the direction of the houses, in which there were "only old men".
He said that the group of Serbs entered the Banjska monastery only "to ask for help for the two wounded young men".

"When such a conflict happened in Macedonia, talks and agreements were reached, whereas today they said kill everyone. Vuçiqi has repeated the request for the Association to engage policemen of Serbian nationality in the north of Kosovo. "This is the only way for the Serbs not to be chased from their homes and for there to be no conflicts."
"We will make decisions about these events and not anyone else. Duplicity is their middle name. All the time they have been looking for justification to blame Serbia until we don't recognize Kosovo. This is the pressure to recognize Kosovo", Vuçiqi continued, accusing the internationals. "This pressure will continue. Those who think that we will exert great pressure for Serbia to recognize Kosovo, I will tell them strongly, we will never recognize Kosovo's independence. You can kill us all, you can say whatever you want," he added.
According to him, the first cars and equipment in the premises of the Banjska Monastery "do not belong to the Army or the Police of Serbia".
"This represents what a special war against Serbia looks like. They are not uniforms of the Serbian army or police, they did not have special weapons. We cannot enter without the permission of KFOR, only if we want to enter into a conflict with NATO. We talked with Petkovic of the Serbian List. They are with their people. The problem is that the Albanian police shot at private houses and knocked on those houses to find the Serbs. The barricades that were set up had to be removed by KFOR and not by the Kosovo police, because of this the Albanian police suffered", he said. "Kosovo will never gain its independence, at least not from the Republic of Serbia. Whatever the internationals do, we will take the decisions in the following days and we will take them with a cool head. As for the decisions on how and in what way we will protect the people, we will let you know", Vuçiqi continued.
According to him, "no one has worked for extension".
"The international forces left them (the attackers) in the lurch and allowed them to follow them with snipers and kill them, after killing the policeman. Thus, the north of Kosovo and the Serbs will be left without men who will oppose Kurti's terror", said Vuçiqi.
