The President of the European Commission (EC), Ursula von der Leyen, will hold a meeting with the leaders of the six countries of the Western Balkans on September 19, said the spokesperson Eric Mamer, "N1" broadcasts.
As the EC spokesman said, Thursday's meeting will be held at the European Commission building in Brussels.
The leaders of Kosovo, Albania, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia are invited to von der Leyen's meeting, but the names of who will represent each state have not yet been announced.
On June 27 of this year, the European Council appointed von der Leyen for a second term as president of the European Commission. On July 18, he was re-elected for a five-year term after a secret ballot in the European Parliament. It had 401 votes in favor, 284 against and 22 were invalid. It is planned to present the new composition of the Commission on September 17.
