Veseli: The International Court for the crimes of Serbs will be formed soon

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo has announced today the concrete steps for the formation of an International Court which will punish the crimes of Serbia in Kosovo.

In a press conference, Speaker Veseli said that he has already started the consultations and procedures which will soon result in concrete steps towards the formation of the International Court for the crimes and genocide that Serbia has committed in Kosovo.

"I have taken the initiative to start the process which will result in the creation of an International Court for the massacres committed by Serbia in Kosovo in 1998-1999. This court is possible and necessary and will happen. The State of Kosovo is obliged to take all actions to make it inevitable. The path of historical reconciliation and permanent peace between Kosovo and Serbia passes only through justice", emphasized Veseli.

He has said that 186 massacres committed by Serbia in Kosovo demand justice and silence towards evidence and witnesses is silent forgiveness for criminals. He said that this must not happen and will not be allowed to happen, while ordering all Serbian criminals who are hiding in Serbia to be arrested and tried for the crimes they have committed in Kosovo.

"The message for all criminals in Serbia is clear. We are busy with you all. You will answer for what you have done to our people in Kosovo, from the children to the elderly who were innocent, and you were not good enough to face us - the Kosovo Liberation Army", said Veseli.

The President of the Assembly said that the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo have an obligation to protect not only the freedom, the state and the lives of the citizens, but also the truth of our liberation war.

"The crimes and massacres committed by Serbia in Kosovo are of genocide proportions. We have believed that international justice will have its say in the punishment of these crimes. Unfortunately, two decades have passed and little or nothing has been done in this regard. The Hague Tribunal has stopped the judicial proceedings against the leaders of the Milosevic regime. To the extent that international justice in Kosovo has not completed its work. Meanwhile, Serbia has tried to close this work by organizing false trials of its officers who participated in the massacres committed in Kosovo. This is unacceptable", emphasized Veseli.

He added that although Serbia left Kosovo in 1999, its systematic efforts to hinder the state building and future of Kosovo have continued and are still continuing.

These efforts, Veseli added, are efforts to change the truth about Kosovo's past, the truth about the genocide perpetrated by the Serbian state. He said there can be no reconciliation without bringing justice to war crimes.
