Adil Pireva, one of the organizers of the 1968 demonstrations, has died at the age of 81.
The news of his death was announced by his family.
Pireva was an activist of the liberation movement and a political prisoner.
During the years 1964-68 he worked as a teacher in Lupq i Poshtëm, then started working at "Rilindja" as a journalist.
“...In April 1981 he was imprisoned again and suffered two months of solitary confinement. In 1989 he joined the Democratic League of Kosovo and in 1991 he was elected to the party's governing bodies. In 1993 he returned to work at 'Rilindja', namely 'Bujku', where he worked until the NATO bombings. After the liberation of Kosovo, he worked as a journalist, editor and translator at the Kosovo Information Center. In 2000 he was elected a member of the Pristina Municipal Assembly and later a member of the Council of the Independent Media Commission. He has been involved in literary and journalistic creativity. He has published the works: 'Albanian Sixties' (1994), 'Years of Hope and Endurance' (2004), 'Albanian Trials' (2008), 'Poetry for Children' (2008), 'First Demonstrations for a Republic of Kosovo' (2016) etc.", it is stated in the encyclopedic dictionary for Pyreva.
