Tensions have also escalated during today's opposition protest in Albania, with clashes between protesters and police forces on Tirana's main boulevard.
According to media reports in Albania, protesters threw fireworks, pyrotechnics, and Molotov cocktails at the police cordon, while police responded with tear gas to disperse the crowd.
Physical clashes between participants and police were also recorded during the protest.
The protest was organized by the Albanian opposition, led by Sali Berisha and the Democratic Party of Albania, who have been organizing rallies against the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama for months. They have also used Molotov cocktails and fireworks.
The opposition accuses the government of corruption, election manipulation, institutional capture, and a worsening economic situation in the country. On the other hand, the government has described the protests as an attempt at political destabilization.
