The 78th witness in the trial against the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army, US soldier Steven Russell, finished his testimony on Tuesday.
After Russell's testimony ended, the testimony of the next protected witness W03871 began.
According to the announcement issued by the Office of the Specialized Prosecutor, the next witness joined the Kosovo Liberation Army around March 1998 and served in many countries providing training for KLA soldiers, as well as acting as a commander.
In the testimony that focused on the post-war period of 1998-1999, Russell stated that within the framework of a KFOR operation, which at that time took place in Gjilan, in a location that the Prosecution claims was the site of of torture, has seen fresh blood stains.
The prosecutor, Matthew Halling, asked the witness about the place, which he said was a "torture room", based on a pre-trial testimony of the witness. The witness answered by saying that he saw a spot of fresh blood, with a diameter of 40 centimeters, in a place where there were also sharp tools.
