The University of Pristina (UP) has repeated calls to all law enforcement agencies to intervene in stopping illegal construction and business activities in the central campus areas, especially between the Central University Library and the Institute of Chemistry.
According to the UP announcement, university staff notified the Pristina Municipality Inspectorate on September 23 and October 25, 2025, about these illegal works.

Letter to the Reader — Why We're Asking for Your Support Contribute"However, the field visit of the Inspectorate director on October 27, 2025 did not result in any concrete action, allowing illegal activities to continue," the UP response states.
The university denounces that, despite official statements from the municipality that the facilities are being renovated for the needs of students, the space is currently being used for commercial purposes.
UP has said that the entity's Facebook page presents the facility as "Zoe Hotel", "a luxury hotel aimed at business clientele and urban tourism, deviating from the academic mission and service to students."
UP warns that if law enforcement institutions do not intervene to stop these activities, the university reserves the legitimate right to prevent third parties from accessing its premises.
"The UP management is determined to return the usurped properties in the service of knowledge, social progress and economic development, while protecting the mission of teaching, scientific research and student activities," the reaction continues.
