Even a year after the approval of the Law on the Price of Medicines, the Ministry of Health has not finalized the list for the unification of these prices. The first list has been canceled due to major errors. And the review process has not yet been completed. According to the sources, there are suspicions that the companies have cheated with the prices declared by the manufacturer.
Exactly one year has passed since the Law on the Price of Medicines came into force, but the unification process has encountered problems.
The list with unified prices was made public once, and then it was canceled by the Minister of Health, Arben Vitia.
The review of the list has started, but it is not finished yet.
TIME sources within the Ministry of Health showed that a large part of the pharmaceutical companies have falsely presented the prices. For the drugs that have entered Kosovo, they have presented prices much higher than the real ones.
These same sources have also spoken about the suspicions that some of the companies have falsified the manufacturer's documents with the stated prices of the drugs.

The Ministry of Health has admitted that the process has problems, however, they have not provided details.
"The commission for determining the prices continues its work and we are very close to finalizing the proposal of the list. The beginning of September is the scheduled time for submission of the proposal of the list to the Minister", says a response from the Ministry.
The Ministry has admitted that there were attempts at fraud by the companies.
"Most of the identified problems have to do with the authenticity of the declarations by the declarants, therefore as a commission we are working intensively to verify them", says the response of this institution.
According to TIME sources, the Ministry has already contacted most of the large pharmaceutical manufacturers to confirm the data presented.

The first list which was canceled had released the products with market price much higher than the current prices.
Some pharmacists, under conditions of anonymity, have told KOHA weeks ago that the list published in the name of price leveling, actually contained drastic price increases for many drugs.
As an illustrative case, they took Travazol cream, which is used to treat some types of skin infections. Before the leveling of prices, this product cost 3.80 euros, after the leveling process it became 11 euros.
The "leveling" process had also increased the price of a drug for the treatment of diabetes "Glavus Met".

In July last year, the Assembly of Kosovo passed the Law that foresees the regulation of the price of drugs for public purchases, but also in the private market.
The law provided for the creation of a list of mandatory prices within four months, but it has not yet been finalized.
