The Mayor of the Municipality, Agim Bahtiri, received the representative of the UN-HABITAT Office in Kosovo, Gwendoline Mennetrier, with whom he discussed aspects of spatial planning in the municipality of Mitrovica.
Ms. Mennetrier told Mayor Bahtiri that the commitment of the office, which she represents in the municipality of Mitrovica, this year has been focused on assessing capacities in the field of spatial planning, in which case certain common findings of relevant directorates that are involved in this process, but also those related to the involvement of civil society in the process.
These findings, according to her, will be addressed in a programmatic workshop, which will be held on July 12, 13 and 14 of this year, when priorities in the field of spatial planning can also be set.
The workshop will also address the achievements and findings related to the Municipal Spatial Development Plan, the Mobility Plan and the issue of the date of the integrated spatial base.
The purpose of all these actions, according to her, is to contribute as best as possible to the Municipal Development Plan.
Mayor Bahtiri informed Ms. Mennetrier about the work that the municipality is doing in the spatial arrangement along the Ibër river, starting at the Ibër bridge and ending at Suhadolli lake, where there will be a series of recreational-sports facilities. In particular, he spoke about the arrangement of space in the Roma Quarter, in which case he requested the commitment and support of the UN-HABITAT Office in Pristina.
