Thaçi: The absence of the Kosovo-Serbia agreement may have consequences

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, today received the vice-president of the Atlantic Council, Damon Wilson, together with a delegation from the US Senate and Congress.

Thaçi thanked Vice President Wilson for the continued contribution of the Atlantic Council in Kosovo to the strengthening of security structures.

"On the 20th anniversary of the liberation of Kosovo, the people and the state of Kosovo are eternally grateful for the defining role of the USA in the freedom and independence of Kosovo", he said.

The head of state and the American delegation also talked about the transition process of the Kosovo Security Force and Kosovo's membership, first in the Partnership for Peace, then in NATO.

In this meeting, the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue and the necessity of using the momentum to reach a comprehensive and legally binding agreement was discussed.

"The lack of an agreement between Kosovo and Serbia may have consequences for security and stability in the region and paves the way for anti-European elements," said President Thaçi.
