Letter to the Reader — Why We're Asking for Your Support Contribute"I remind you that the Vetëvendosje Movement in accordance with Article 95 of the Constitution, the decision of the Constitutional Court of July 1, 2014 and the Decision of the Central Election Commission on the certification of the final results of the early elections for the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, held on 6 October 2019, is the political entity that won the majority in the Assembly to form the Government and has the right to propose the candidate to form the Government", he wrote, KOHA reports.
He says that after the motion of no confidence, he held consultative meetings with all the political parties represented in the Assembly to assess whether it is in the interest of the political parties to form a new Government or dissolve the Assembly.
"In this regard, taking into account the above-mentioned acts, I have given you the opportunity as Lévizje Vetëvendosje to propose the candidate for prime minister. The citizens of Kosovo and the political parties represented in the Assembly rightly expect the functionalization of the new Government and expect me to decree the proposed candidate for prime minister."
"Once again, I have to remind them that my constitutional mandate obliges me to guarantee the democratic functioning of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, including ensuring the appointment of the candidate for Prime Minister to form the new Government. As president, I will undertake this action by following all the constitutional steps so that the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo have a new Government as soon as possible", he wrote further.
