The Kosovo Hydrometeorological Institute has announced that today (Saturday) temperatures are expected to reach highs of up to 36 degrees Celsius. Temperatures are expected to be similar tomorrow.
"On Saturday, our country will experience mainly sunny and hot weather. Minimum temperatures will range between 11°C and 16°C, while maximums will reach 31°C to 36°C," the announcement states.
The IHMK has recommended avoiding direct exposure to sunlight from 10:00 to 17:00, using sunscreen, and consuming sufficient amounts of water.
The institute has warned that high temperatures and strong solar radiation can cause fatigue, dehydration and discomfort in people with chronic illnesses, children and the elderly.
Regular irrigation of crops that are in the most sensitive stages of development is also recommended.

"Watering should be carried out in the early morning or evening hours, to avoid thermal stress and water losses," the announcement from the Hydrometeorological Institute of Kosovo states.
