License plates "Kosovo is Serbia" for sale, in the name of "humanitarian aid"

Malaysian soldiers who were arrested for inciting hatred in Kosovo had license plates that were likely sold by Serbian organizations that claim to be humanitarian and sell license plate frames with the inscription "Kosovo is Serbia". Such organizations, according to the Kosovo Center for Security Studies, represent a negative external influence in countries such as Kosovo and Montenegro

The two soldiers of the Army of Montenegro, Rajko Krivokapiq and Dragutin Llalatovic, as well as another Malaysian citizen with the initials MJ, have been in custody since November 24 after they had license plates with the inscription "Kosova is Serbia" in the middle of Deçan on their car. .

But license plates with such inscriptions are regularly seen by "Srpska Solidarnost", which describes itself as a humanitarian organization based in Belgrade.

This organization has called on both the citizens of Serbia and those of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Montenegro to buy such frames.

"Srpska Solidarnost" sells these license plates in the name of humanitarian aid for Serbian children in Kosovo, to whom scholarships are also distributed, as well as exposes them on social networks.

Jeta Loshaj, researcher at the Kosovo Center for Security Studies, says that organizations that are called humanitarian are not unusual for the Balkans and have malicious intentions in relation to Kosovo.

She says that such organizations are an example of the negative external influence that affects Kosovo and the region.

"It is not the first time we hear about such a so-called humanitarian center in Serbia. It has been mentioned how many years the Humanitarian Center in Nis and it belongs to Russia and many foreign policy experts have always questioned the essence of that center and when they have received any answer, the answer has been that it is only to help, to material issues and there is no intention of diplomatic influence or anything like that, but I think that this is one of the many methods of what in international relations is called "soft power" or "soft power" to spread the influence of own. Now, for this center, we still cannot speculate whether it is supported by Russia, although if you look at the website, you will see that there is also the possibility to give donations through rubles", said Loshaj.

She points out that alongside Serbia, Russia often even more harshly aims to destroy the image of Kosovo as a state in the public sphere and aims to present the Kosovar authorities as oppressors of the Serbian identity.
Loshaj asserts that such organizations that operate in Kosovo should be in the monitoring of the institutions.

The three Malaysians arrested in Deçan have become a topic in Montenegro.

The pro-Serbian parties have publicly demanded their release and have also asked the Albanian deputy in the Assembly of Montenegro, Ilir Çapun, to influence their release.

"What would happen if we would now react reciprocally, in the way the government in Pristina reacted, because in Ulcinj, for every summer, clips promoting Greater Albania and singing songs dedicated to the Kosovo Liberation Army can be seen? ", said Milan Knezhević, deputy of the DNS in the Assembly of Montenegro.

This was answered by Ilir Çapuni, also a deputy in the Assembly of Montenegro.

"And in the end, Mr. Knezhević and all colleagues and citizens of Montenegro, if Kosovo is a recognized country, you can go to Kosovo with an identity card, peacefully, as dignified citizens of this country, you will be welcomed with kindness , but please don't even think that that country will not react to unwanted visits or visits like the one in Banjska or visits with different signs, as it was in the case of our citizens". said the deputy of the "Forca" party.

The Government of Kosovo and the Police have not answered the questions about whether they are aware of the activities of the organization "Srpska Solidarnost" in Kosovo.

Even the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Montenegro has not indicated whether it allows license plates that incite hatred towards Albanians.
