Szunyog says that Kosovo should do more for visa liberalization

The lack of visa liberalization for Kosovo citizens is becoming a topic of discussion in almost every meeting with representatives of the European Union.

Such a thing was also discussed in the meeting of the leader of the EU Office in Kosovo, Tomas Szunyog, with the youth of Dragash Municipality.

Szunyog emphasized that he always mentions the issue of visa liberalization in meetings with the leaders of the European Union, as he expressed that he hopes that this will happen soon.

"Every time I go to Brussels, he mentioned that Kosovo has completed the work for liberalization. It has not yet been decided and for this I feel sorry that it is not in my hands, but in the hands of the 27 member countries. It is an issue that puts a strain on our relationship. Yesterday there was a student protest... The government of Kosovo must play its role, but there is a possibility that Kosovo can talk with the ministers of the 27 countries that are members so that they can be convinced that the liberalization of visas is appropriate", he said.

Germany's special representative for the Western Balkans, Manuel Sarrazin, has also requested free movement for Kosovars, without the need for a visa.

He said at a forum in Serbia that it is very important for the region to liberalize visas for Kosovars.
