Sveçla: There is no question of fulfilling Vucic's request for the return of former policemen to the north

Minister of Internal Affairs, Xelal Sveçla

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Xelal Svečla, has said that there is no question of fulfilling the request of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, that the former policemen who resigned in the north, return to work.

On Sunday at the General Council of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Sveçla said that this would be a violation of the Constitution of Kosovo.

The resignation of a mass of policemen from the Serbian community, Sweden has called the cleansing of the criminal element in the north.

"The resignation of these police officers, in fact, was also for a large number of them, a cleansing of the criminal element in that area. There is no question of fulfilling Aleksandar Vučić's request that former policemen return to the ranks of the Kosovo Police. This is not only a legal violation, but it is also a violation of the political will of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo", he said.

While talking about the works that were carried out during the government of the LVV, Sveçla also mentioned the cases filed for organized crime, terrorism and economic crime and corruption, saying that for seven years before the Kurti government, none of these were filed criminal offense.

"From 2014 to 2021, we from the then Kosovo Police in that area, had 0 cases filed for organized crime, we had 0 cases filed for terrorism, we had 0 cases of economic crime and corruption. "Because of the previous agreements where various extremists and thugs were integrated into the Kosovo Police, all they had in Kosovo were uniforms, weapons, police authorizations, but also salaries, while they served Belgrade in full." he said.

Sveçla considered the indictment for the "Banjska" case to be incomplete because, according to him, it does not include some Serbian officials such as the army commander and the deputy commander.

During the speech in the General Council, Sveçla said that the governance of the past powers will not return, mentioning that "we will have the governance of Kurti 3".

"Cooperation will be unconditional, and unlike previous governments, it should continue to deepen even more", added the Minister of Internal Affairs..
