Surroi points out the two biggest dangers threatening Kosovo

NIn the latest episode of the podcast PIKË, the publicist Veton Surroi identified two of the most serious challenges that, according to him, threaten Kosovo in the next decade.

Asked by playwright Jeton Neziraj about the greatest internal dangers, Surroi emphasized the unfinished conflict with Serbia and the lack of preparation for technological and cultural transformations.

"The first danger is that our society has not closed the conflict. Not because there is a direct physical threat, but because the conflict has become part of our collective narrative and is being passed on to the new generations. We do not owe it to the young people to live with Serbia as a daily topic," he said.

The second risk, according to him, has to do with Kosovo's lack of preparation to enter a new technological era, where artificial intelligence and digital transformations will be decisive.

"Kosovo as a state is the product of a mental project, but I don't know what needs to be done so that our young people can face technological transformation without losing their identity and culture," Surroi said.

He raised the concern that, in a country where 80% of students do not understand the text they read, where newspapers and public authorities are absent, and where information comes unfiltered through social networks, it is very difficult to build a sustainable future.

"When anyone can dispute the expert, when there are no reliable sources, and when a Facebook status replaces a book or newspaper, then we risk entering the era of artificial intelligence as a society without compasses," Surroi concluded.
